White amp sounds okey distorted. The Brown amp sounds good for clean sounds. The Green amp is a disapointment, and there's no Stomps included. Comparing to Amplitube brown and white amp sounds a bit better but it's not worth the price here. The new cubase VST amp rig sounds over all better than these amps so this is a big disapointment, UAD. Please give us the Nigel/preflex back. Can't understand why u guys deleted them out of the UAD-2 line-up! Despite of this: Thanx for the best plugz the universe! You're still the best!
I bought this highly recommended amp simulator. I am so far rather disappointed. I have (similar to) the amps, and they don't feel like the originals. I feel the simulation is not as life like or 'alive' as others i've used.
Still has a place in my arsenal, but much less frequently than I had anticipated.
I feel like the dynamics are just not the same. I prefer the many other amp sims I have, despite them not being on the DSP chips.
I wish I had tried this before buying.
I'll be honest, I have never been a fan of the native versions of Softube's amp emulations (on the other hand I'm a huge fan of their CL1B and Trident plugins), but I needed a zero-latency distortion effect just so I could lay down direct/clean tracks for distorted guitar with the right feel. Once the clean input is tracked, I mix with another plugin.
Now that the drama is out of the way, I will say it is wonderful to have a decent emulation in realtime paired with my Apollo. I'm not a guitarist. I'm a producer learning guitar who needed a way to get a good vibe on clean input. I'm very happy with the purchase.
I never got a chance to use it because I don't have a pci card. But I love the satellite.
That's it really. For a guitar modelling plug with a straightforward interface and a killer sound, this doesn't even come close to Preflex + Gate Comp. In absolute terms, it's a decent enough offering, but Universal Audio already had this one nailed...at least for guitar.
Great sound, I just wish we could add some stomp boxes effects on it.
On bass its pretty good blended with line signal, but not for guitar, i think. Maybe i buy native plugin it cost $80 now on sale, and it has AAX native format what i need . UAD platform for better plugins. When I wrote in UA last year's poll that I want guitar processing I was hoping for the best.
Why do you dont make your own AMP Sim. I'm shire that will sound much better!!
With this bundle you can track guitar and bass with no latency and ... No sound at all :) models are great even if the number could be improved . Great sound but should give options for pedals. Quite limited in options compared to Amplitube and Guitar rig, but I find this bundle the best friend of an Apollo rig if you track with no amps and just think of reamp or simulation later on. The bass amp is really great. I got rid of all Pod and alike, this pluging bundle does what I need and then I just shape the sound later on. Waited for this a lot. Now finger crossed also BX rocktrack .. Could join the happy UAD platform ??
To be clear, Softube amps are a great addition especially with Apollo, I'm so very happy with it but in all honesty, I do miss Nigel now that I have Apollo to go but can't have Nigel with it, fortunately still being able to experiment and enjoy it on my very old system which is not portable/in the field which is where I would need it most for band recordings...Thx UAD for everything else as usual... ; r )
I've tried Amp Room and its good but the only reason I still have a UAD-1 in my old tower is so I can have and is my "go to plug" for great guitar experience.
I LOVE NIGEL and can only imagine UAD making it so much better if that is possible, which I'm sure they can...Up to the task boys and girls?? Thx as usual for all the other grea offerings. Play On, ; r )
