Couldn't be more pleased, I always used the Dim D on my mixes back in the 80s and 90s and feel very 'at home' having it in my system again.
Roland Classic Series FX Bundle is a true classic that Rival Music is happy to be adopting. RE-201 is bringing retro flavor and it is awesome!
The Roland CE-1 has the chorus effect I've been looking for for years.
It gives me the same feelings as an expensive analog gear.
Fewer controls, but the big fat sound is there!
The only thing missing to make this plug-in perfect is an auto pan.
Great sounding chorus. My only beef is that I can't insert it in the input channel when I want a very subtle effect. With the intensity and output controls turned all the way down it's still too much. So I'm forced to use it on an aux bus. Same issue with the Roland Dimension D chorus which doesn't have output control.
this is the most acurate chorus sound Ive ever heard
only missing a wet-dry, but its ok
It's the little magic, which I needed! Works great on almost everything!
Absolutely beautiful. Been trying to achieve this with other choruses, but nothing came close to this. One of my favourite UAD plugs.
A really nice chorus. Good for guitars & back vocal!
This is a vintage chorus so it means the high frequencies are a little out.
As you know some analog hardware synthesizers lack chrous.
That was the idea for me to buy this one. We all know it sounds good on guitars and the unit was made to be a guitar rig. As long as I tested the plugin I believe it is a little harsh to be used on lead vocals and too lo-fi to be a studio chorus. So ... Then I realized it could be nice on rich and synthetic sounds or signals which are not produced acoustic.
If you listen to other modeled vintage stomps you will hear their cheap sound but universal audio is something.
Thanks again for producing high quality low quality stuff... :D
i love the BOSS CE-1 Chorus it makes you feel like you are using the hardware great job uad i am looking forward to more great emulations in the future
I've had the CE-1 for a few weeks now and like all the other UA emulations I have, I am more than happy with the sound of this plug-in.
I can't fault anything about UA plug-ins. I have Neve and SSL vintage outboard gear in my studio but am finding I am working in the box more and more since I purchased the UAD-2-QUAD and Neve bundle.
The only thing I would like to see is a reduction in price on plugins. I purchase as much as I can afford, when I can afford it. But I ideally would like to replace all my other plug-ins with UA emulations. I honestly think they are that good.
Impressive recreation of the original hardware and the definitely one of the best chorus plugs around. Could have been improved with a wet/dry control as I tend to use it in a subtle way on the low settings to add space and depth on reverbs and delays. This plugin is good value compared to the hardware and combines ease of use with very low DSP demand.
This is still my favorite UA delay. It just sounds awesome. The end.
A stunning, one of a kind effect. One glaring weakness is the lack of a mix/wet&dry knob. At its lowest settings the effect is still very strong, requiring AUX sends to be used most of the time. A 5 star sound but a cumbersome interface. Still recommend it
Sounds great! Best tape delay emulation I've heard. But it is a huge, HUGE power HOG.
Floored. That's the best way I can describe my reaction to this plugin. A friend suggested I try it out on my Scarbee Rhodes. I did, expecting mediocre results as I've never heard a decent plugin chorus. Not only is this -by FAR- the best plugin chorus I've ever heard; I would go as far to say this is possibly the best chorus I've ever heard (and I have a Lexicon). It adds depth and dimension beyond what I thought was possible. Keep up the incredible work guys!
Knowing this is in my arsenal is just another reason why it makes little sense to record effects to track. CE-1 is just like the real thing, only better, because you can apply in post... Love it!
I own an original RE-201, and I love Universal Audio's plug-in emulations of classic gear, so I was really looking forward to getting this plug-in to make things like BPM matching much easier. However, after doing some comparison tests, I ended up not buying it because I really preferred the sound of the hardware unit (though it sure would be nice to not have such a high noise floor).
You can hear the differences for yourself here, if you'd like:
I still gave it four stars because it's a great-sounding delay plug-in, even though I do prefer the original.
Check out all the inconsistent crashing problems with Apollo interfaces and UAD satellites for which there is certainly no apparent cure.
BIG WELL KNOWN PROBLEM to seemingly a lot of folks, but I was taken in by all the hype. UA got me for the price of the Apollo quad and at least that much more in plugins. Spec'd out 2013 MBP won't run the Apollo on any of the UAD firmwares either above or below 7. Great plugins, LEMON of an interface, and the problem goes on and on, well over a year. I thought UA was GREAT, now I think UA is "slick". Lost my endorsement and my now $7000 "loaded" Apollo Quad goes on the shelf, for who knows how long.... Total BULL$HIT UA!
