first impressions for sample based use

    by S. Hudson . 4 out of 5 stars

Real nice tool for putting back those bits you wanna
hear. Top end is silky and twiddle the attenuate roles
off or blends. Because of the smooth smudgy effect it
imparts on loops an drum it really bites alot better.
Its the first eq i think of now. Not an envelope shaper
eq more a add abit off balls.

    Great start.

    by S. Grush . 4 out of 5 stars

I felt this was a great starting point for my ear to settle into the UAD line. I hit the Pultec on a hi-hat and guitar lead and loved what the subtle EQ moves did for the mix. I don't think I'll use this EQ to do a lot of heavy lifting for my mixing, but it has its purpose.

    Great EQ

    by J. Brown-McCue . 4 out of 5 stars

This will drastically change the sound of whatever you run through it with some know turning and takes up little cpu, both pretty awesome. I use the Pultec quite a bit, it's a swiss army knife eq, and a good one to start out with. I'd give it a 5, but I prefer the Manley Massive Passive a bit more as a UAD plug in - that one gets 5 stars. I like having both obviously. Great buy.

    Great EQ

    by G. Olson . 4 out of 5 stars

The Pultec goes on pretty much every instrument in all my projects. Even if only with neutral settings, it still adds some mojo to the track. Indispensable!

    by M. Favale . 4 out of 5 stars

I don't know the original equipment but this one gave me a nice and bright sound in my mastering chain.

Subtle EQ and very musical sound. I´m trying this one as a part of a mastering chain. Sweet.

    Crispy top end!

    by J. Leväsalmi . 4 out of 5 stars

Definitely liking this one. Sometimes just slapping this on and tweaking with the different angles of the dips and boosts gives surprisingly musical results. Not my go to EQ but always an interesting one to test on sounds that need that extra something.

Very good EQ for small money, but slightly outdated

    by C. Meyer . 4 out of 5 stars

UA gave me the pro version of the Pultic for free after my purchase of a UAD-2, so that's a plus already to this.
I had a UAD1 years ago and owned the non-Pro version of this at that time and I was very happy with it and used it a lot on mixes and masters, both at work and for my own stuff. Using it now (again) shows me how well the plugin holds up with the strong competition of Waves & co, but also lacks just a tiny bit of sonic quality to be up there with the best. Seeing the price of this and considering the age, I think 4 stars is fair, as it really works very well, doesn't use up too much DSP and just sounds classic, even if other plugs surpass this ever so slightly. I probably wouldn't have bought it, but as a welcome gift it's great!

Great enhancing eq. Think your track sounds good? Add this, and it will sound better.

    Easy to dial up

    by O. Lamas . 4 out of 5 stars

Never having the pleasure of using a real Pultec EQ I cannot really give any comparison notes. I have however, used all of the other plugins that emulate this unit. I will be brief. This is the best and easiest to dial up what you need. Well done.

    Pultec sounds great!

    by L. Lucerna . 4 out of 5 stars

The Pultec Pro plugs sounds great, sweet and open! Very close to the original. Also I find the Mid section very usefull.
My only complaint is when you insert the Pultec in a track, the increase level is noticeable , an output trim would be very helpful!

    Smooth EQ

    by P. Edwards . 4 out of 5 stars

Works as you'd expect, adds a nice gloss to vocals with the right settings, unfortunately the lack of physical controls really shows the limitations of mouse based dialing in with this sort of a device where it's all about balancing settings of a couple of dials at once. Apart from that it's a good deal.

    Subtle, musical EQ

    by B. Pfaff . 4 out of 5 stars

I've been really impressed with the vintage vibe of this eq. It's warm and subtle, even the most drastic of cuts and boosts don't sound harsh or extreme. So far I've used it on kick drum, snare, and vocals and have been blown away by the clarity and punch I've able to achieve with the Pultec Pro!

    Smooth and gentle

    by M. Poncy . 4 out of 5 stars

Awesome bang for your buck! Really shapes--keeps things musical while helping to balance a mix. Works great on vocals and 2 bus. In conjunction with Manley and SSL Channel Strip [for tight Q's], theres no sound you can't achieve!

    unorthodox

by H. Henning Thomas . 4 out of 5 stars

The handling needs getting used to - and it´s hard to understand how it works, but if you work intuitive with it, things are possible, that are impossible with standard EQs.
