A must have for dance music production !
Clear sound and incredible quality effects !
I really don't think there's a better plug-in filter out there than this one, and I was definitely impressed by how close it sounded to my Minimoog's in several tests, but I ended up not getting it because it still didn't quite match the sonic beauty of a true Moog filter, especially in extreme settings. This was another case (like my RE-201 review) where I was looking forward to supplementing my hardware with the plug-in version for ease-of-use, but I just can't bring myself to do it since routing things out through my Minimoog sounds appreciably better to me. I would say that Universal Audio is about 95% of the way there, which is really impressive, but if you're looking for that true Moog sound, the Moog MF-101 is only $100 more than this plug-in (or even sometimes the same price used).
You can hear the differences for yourself here:
fantastic ! Only thing missing is a sidechain input for the envelope control, as this would be an improvement over the original !
sayin that ive jus filtered some asian string samples an this does sound very nice in the mix think ill give it another star!!
The quality of this plug should get 5 stars. I gave it 4 since I felt that this is probably one of the less useful plugins that UA offers. I could not see myself applying this plug to an entire mix. I have found it useful as a single effect on a bass guitar, but even then, I would prefer to have a hardware version of the unit so I could manually control the pots while recording.
Instead of this plugin, I would love to have seen UA offer a Moog Suite that offered all of the Moog pedals as individual plugins. This would be a more familiar resource for Moog pedal users.
The Moog(r) Multimode Filter plugin from UA is great: everything is possible. I was looking for its features for re-amping all kinds of audio material, but a real Moog is yet a bit too expensive for now - however, this plugin gives me the opportunity to get the results I wanted for some time now, beit my hardware vintage synths (i.e. Roland Juno-106 and Yamaha DX7), electric guitars, samples or even bass, drums and vocals. It sounds real and it is a very flexible... Great job, UA!
really sounds like a moog, works well with everything. great for fx and unique utilities for mixes. the bad side is the price...
