Excellent software, like i expected.
With the wet button, when you print your audio and move it ahead according to the delay time , you've got a great tape sound without delay at no more expense.
The only drawback is the maximum delay time of 700ms. That's a 1/2 at 67bpm.
I thought software could beat the hardware on this.
Too bad, but not enough to ruin the pleasure and true character it adds to your music.
Vintage. Warm. Control. Historic. Mine!
I love delay. At times (especially for vocals) I will use it like a separate backing instrument. I'm shocked at how versatile, complimentary and modern this effect can be although there is plenty of old school "cheese" if one wants it.
simply love it. Put it on a separate bus and let it float off, degrading beautifully...
I am thrilled with this awesome plugin, Although I already had the Roland Space Echo plug, I am old enough to remember when the EP was the must have effect. UAD has perfectly modeled that plug and makes it available to us, It is amazing on a vocal track and a must have for guitars. Thank you UAD for your amazing work.
This is a formidable machine
However, you must know the parametrer to get the best
I use it all the time
Good job from the team universal audio
I was expecting a wow when I "plugged" it in but it was more like a "okay, nice" Maybe I have to fiddle about with it a bit more. A stereo feature would be a blessing. PLEASE DO A FULL STEREO VERSION with independant ms!! It's such a pain to route these things. ;)
Another wonderful plugin from UAD. I have used the original unit, and it is almost too close, but with the accurate interface that only a digital system can give you. The sound you can get by over saturating the tape is delightful. The only thing I would like would be for UAD to step away from the original unit and give the ability to increase the delay time past 700ms. If you are working with a track that is under around 85 bpm, then quarter note delay is pretty much out of the question. Otherwise, UAD has another happy customer. Guitar tracks sound amazing with this. Thanks again, and keep up the good work.
Having owned an old echoplex back in the day, I can tell you that the UAD version is so close that it's scary. All that warm, gooey inspiring echo, back inside my DAW. If you want a true character echo, this is the best one I've found... and I've tried a bunch. Highly recommended.
This thing has changed how I produce music. Why ---- thats a trade secret - but there is not one single track I do not use this for now.
One thing I would like UAD to add is a stereo feature.
This plugin sounds great when I am soloing the track but as soon as I bring the rest of the mix in I can't hear it. It is cool for creating effects but as a delay I can never hear it.
I've never used the actual unit, but as far as i can tell, this plug-in mimics the echo very well!
It takes some getting used to in order to fully understand the way such an echo works but once you get the hang of it you can make some very unique sounds out of it!
I discovered the EP-34 through a friend who is using it all the time for Lo-fi, downtempo, trip-hop chill-out production
I own already the roland space echo 201 emulation but the EP34 has something special with a warmer and more happier sound...
I don't need to tell you that it's not only a delay but an instrument that can be used in a subtle way for doubling or creating a nice spacy atmosphere or a psychedelic FX.
I use it on anything for electronic music, mainly nu-disco, balearic production.
It works perfectly on analog synthesizer, Moog voyager, minibrute, Korg Volca, and all sort of other drums.
It's one of the first delay that I will recommend even before the 201 combine with the Fatso you'll have a powerful warm tool.
I recently mixed an album under the concept of 'old school' warmth and tubelike. Unfortunately my hardware device Roland RE201 was not responding the way i was use to and lack of time and economy made me make a quick decision. I desperately needed the tape echo character and so I demoed the echo plex and watched UA video and I was amazed: Not a difficult choice. It sounds great and react and sounds like tape echo for real.
I'm a guitar player. Within a minute of trying the EP-34 Tape Echo plug-in, I knew I was gonna have to buy it. Great on guitar, vocals...most likely just about anything. Sonic bliss!
Great plug, great warmth, love it on guitars, true character echo, thanks again UA
I LOVE this plug! It's for doing repeats, but honestly what I love most about it is setting it just to create a general atmosphere, particularly on lead instruments and vocals. The 3D and depth of the sound is incredible. I look at something like the Space Echo as more of a special effect whereas this plug is something I will probably use on almost every mix, even in just small amounts.
This plugin has the best of both the 3 and 4 model and best of all no tape to replace in the middle of a session like with the original hardware. It is very easy to us and sounds like the original as well as functions like the hardware version.
The EP-34 sounds amazing and is very easy to use. I much enjoy the roughness and dirty lo-fi quality the tape emulation brings to the mix compared to the stock logic plugins.
I really fell in love with it! I route my monophonic synths to this and it just gives them a great groove with a classic spacious ambiance to fill in those gaps.
I Highly recommend it, Thanks UA !!
