    Has it's spot

    by D. DiPietro . 4 out of 5 stars

I'm not a heavy overdrive guy so I dial back the gain and it's a very usable guitar box. The presets are useless to me, not even a decent starting point- but that's for my tastes.
I tend to favor Soft tube vintage collection in general but having one more amp style to pick from doesn't hurt. Like most binary amps they just don't get the life that exists in the mid tones right. That doesn't mean they don't have their place. For many projects the ease of use out weighs the tonal superiority of the real deal. Especially for non-guitar based tunes.

Excellent sound, buggy interface at the moment.

    by J. Daly . 4 out of 5 stars

I love the tones I can get with this, messing with the signal chains is key to getting the sound I want to hear from this. It makes a massive change to the sound depending on the mic cab combinations used. The major problem at the moment for me is that channel switching seems to take a very long time, and in protools causes a cpu spike that kills the music. I can't really buy this till the bugs are ironed out, also it will be a lot more useful for live or even in the studio when the amp controls can be assigned to a midi foot controller via the console, rather than having to use the amp inside of a host.

    This one ROCKS!

    by T. Liljegren . 4 out of 5 stars

Oh yeah! Very meaty and analogue. The distorted sound is GREAT. The clean sound more tricky to handle. But it's sooooo much better playing feeling in this one compared to the lousy softtube (vintage). A must-buy for guitarists. Thanx UA and ENGL!

    sting me would you ....

    by R. Masters . 4 out of 5 stars

Why is everything soo low end... I know these plugs are super stable but there's really no cut through sounds. It would require an EQ for most scenarios. I personally like thing out the box stinging me.

    Handy Tool

    by B. Jester . 4 out of 5 stars

I don't use it much but it's nice to have in the chain to check guitars as the parts are going down. Also when the guitar player forgets his tuner or needs a quick reference.

The best amp simulation for clean sounds.

    by B. Schulz . 4 out of 5 stars

The best amp simulation for clean sounds. For crunchy sounds suited, but it takes some time to get a good setup.

    Pretty good Amp Simulation...

    by R. Andersen . 4 out of 5 stars

The ENGL amp bundle is a great product to to work your guitars through in your compositions. The absolute best thing is the low latency when playing through my Apollo. As for tone and feel its not too bad either. I've played through proper ENGL amps most of my guitar life making noise and its pretty close. Personally I prefer the vintage model for my tones.
The market for the virtual amp simulation is still growing and this is so far the better in my opinion. I would however love to see future expansions and further products in the same category from UA.

    engl e646 vs plug-in

    by J. Drouin . 4 out of 5 stars

I`m very pleased with this plugin,it sounds great but I find it takes alot of cpu.Compared to most of the plugins that take 2-3 % of cpu well this takes almost 20%.So when I have all my plugins for my mix and put it on my guitars well I can only put it on 2 gtr tracks but I usally have more than 2 tracks of gtr.I need to bounced them to have it on the others and I have 2 uad2 installed. It`s the only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 stars but it sounds great. It would have been nice to have a list of the mics and settings used from the cab presets

    Worth a try

    by L. Nadjiri . 4 out of 5 stars

I am always critical when it comes to instruments plug ins. In the end the question is not if it exactly sounds like this or that engl but if it sound good. As mentions the presents often do not give you a perfect sound straight away, ( which would only be for people annoying not using it often I guess). The great think thou, you can get I really nice sound out of these to. Seriously sometimes it is really astonishing.

    BX-tuner

    by L. Chard-Maple . 4 out of 5 stars

Nice little stand alone tuner plugin! Great for use with the Apollo and configurable, got it for $9 which is a more realistic price I feel, that's why I'm only giving it 4 stars! The demo reset it a nice bonus however!

    Great Plugin Tuner

    by T. Zimmerman . 4 out of 5 stars

For some reason I couldn't bring myself to give a tuner 5 stars... my bias I guess.
However this is one of the better tuner plugins I've used. Responsive and seems quite accurate to my ears, more so than the plugin tuners that come in most DAWs or guitar amp software. I've been using in with an apollo to fine tune my analog synthesizers and it has been great for that. It's not expensive and it works, so buy it.

    DECENT AMP PLUGIN

    by B. Nutcher . 4 out of 5 stars

I'M CURRENTLY ENGINEERING AND PRODUCING A HEAVY HARD ROCK BAND.
MY INTERFACE IS THE APOLLO QUAD AND WE USED THE SOFT-TUBE PLUGIN TO RECORD TRACKS AND THEN SWITCHED BACK TO IK AMPLITUDE FOR MIXDOWNS.
I'M SO HAPPY I TOOK A CHANCE ON THE ENGLE'S. THE GUITARIST LOVED THE SOUND. ON LEADS TO GET HIS SOUND RIGHT HE HAD TO USE THE OCD PEDAL.
REALLY NO PROBLEM, I JUST PUT HIM THROUGH A STEREO DI BOX AND RECORDED ONE CLEAN TO A SEPARATE TRACK. WE ARE CURRENTLY USING THE ENGLES ON FINAL MIXDOWNS AND THERE SO GOOD WE ARE GOING TO RE-RECORD SOME EARLIER TRACKS WITH IT. NO PHASE PROBLEMS EITHER, AS WITH THE AMPLITUDE. THE THING THAT WOULD BE THE ICING ON THE CAKE WOULD BE SOME GOOD PEDAL EMULATIONS LIKE THE OCD OR MAYBE SOME ROGER MAYER EFFECTS AS WELL.

    Good enough

    by P. CHOVANEC . 4 out of 5 stars

    Hello
    A real good sound.
Whole slick guitar emulation. Apparatus, but I find that could be set mikrifonu n and angle, position to its removal sound.
