    Roland CE-1 Plug-In

    by E. Mvouama . 4 out of 5 stars

The Roland CE-1 has the chorus effect I've been looking for for years.
It gives me the same feelings as an expensive analog gear.
Fewer controls, but the big fat sound is there!
The only thing missing to make this plug-in perfect is an auto pan.

    My usage for this effect

    by P. Mann . 4 out of 5 stars

This is a vintage chorus so it means the high frequencies are a little out.
As you know some analog hardware synthesizers lack chrous.
That was the idea for me to buy this one. We all know it sounds good on guitars and the unit was made to be a guitar rig. As long as I tested the plugin I believe it is a little harsh to be used on lead vocals and too lo-fi to be a studio chorus. So ... Then I realized it could be nice on rich and synthetic sounds or signals which are not produced acoustic.
If you listen to other modeled vintage stomps you will hear their cheap sound but universal audio is something.
Thanks again for producing high quality low quality stuff... :D

    Pay Mann.

    Boss CE-1

    by J. Kinnunen . 4 out of 5 stars

Great plugin! Very authentic indeed. Having owned a Roland JC-160 once, I know that its chorus is a trademark.

    analog like

    by R. Gun . 4 out of 5 stars

It does what you expect, a chorusing sound.
Very colorizing, not transparent, limited usability.
    Opposite to the Dimension D.
But still simple to use and sweet.

    Simple and great

    by D. Ylinikka . 4 out of 5 stars

A very smooth, warm chorus. As mentioned its very light on the highs which makes it easy to add sublte ammounts of non-exaggerated chorus compared to most other software choruses, which usually sound very obvious. Absolutely brilliant on synth material with alot of post-processing, and smoothing out harsh distorted mids without loosing attitude.

Although its a deceivingly simple stompbox model, Ive gotten the best results by far using parallel/send processing. This is where it really shines, adding a controlled warming of the stereo image. Combining this channel with mid/side EQing and some compression on the summing is great.

    Sometimes cheap can be perfect

    by O. Szattelmayer . 4 out of 5 stars

I bought this plugin for a very cheap price , but I have to say that I am really impressed . The sound that it gives is just awesome and it gives a nice stereo image to the vocal bus , where I use it most of the times .

    Excellent go-to chorus plugin

    by J. Leary . 4 out of 5 stars

I have a few (mostly free) chorus plugins, and I have to say the Boss CE-1 is hands down the best sounding of them all. It is nice and thick and warm, and is great when you need to soften or change a track's sound, and it has some excellent vibrato and choruses.

Highly recommend this plugin if you are looking for a chorus or vibrato effect for your tracks.

    Just right.

    by A. Sugar . 4 out of 5 stars

Sounds just right and useful on much more than guitars. Could use the modern convenience of a Wet/Dry Mix knob.

    Love the vibrato

    by M. Henry . 4 out of 5 stars

Sounds exactly as you'd expect it to. A nice alternative for me from Logic's chorus, which I find a little useless. New UAD customer, constantly blown away by the quality. Thanks guys.

This is a nice little tool! A simple straight forward Chorus.
Compared to the Dimension D it sounds a bit more in your face. At least thats what i think, judging on my speakers. The Dimension D really smears things out, the Boss stays more in the center. To my ears it's ideal to use on guitars or on keyboards/ synths if the need to sit a bit in front of your mix. While still giving you a nice wide stereo feeling. I feel good having this in my arsenal cause i know this will give me a very specific type of chorus.
It's probably good on vocals too, but i haven't tried yet. Or by the time your reading this i will have........cause it's fun to play around with the Boss.

Pretty amazing on electric guitars. I also use it on mono keys to widen them out and make space in the mix.
