THE swiss knife under the EQ's out there! It is absolutely unbelievable which sonic characteristic this baby puts on a track. Even when you put this thing on vocals you get an "woooaa" effect. Soft and very very precise!! For me its a must have in my UAD collection! Thanks Universal Audio for develop this Plug-in! THIS is the Neve sound we want out here.

I totally agree with all the reviews before mine. This is one bad @ss EQ! All the Neve stuff has been extremely impressive and is well worth the money, honest!

The best Snare EQ there is! Enough said.
Also great for giving a Vocal Bus the sweet Neve flavor.
If you don't have the Neve Bundle then you are missing out and I feel sorry for you.

When i frst tried this on demo i must admit i wasn't all that impressed.
I bought the 1081 about 5 mins after trying it because frankly it's the finest EQ plug i have ever heard, no doubt the hardware is even nicer.

I recently received an email telling me that i had a coupon redeemable towards Neve plugs, seeing as i have all bar the 1073 it essentially boiled down to me being able to have the 1073 for $2!

So it's a no brainer, i bought it.

Things i didn't apreciate about the 1073 until now

1: the supremacy of the bass, whilst i haven't got any techn ical data to prove this i find that the bass from the 1073 really is second to none.
2: cut filter, i think this CF has the highest attenuation of all the Neves, perfect when you want all the bass gone (which is kind of a blasphemy with the 1073, but you can do it all the same)
3: simplicity

Things i don't like about the 1073

1: the lack of a band between 1.6-3.2khz, for my ear this is too high a jump.
2: middle freqs, they are good but they are not in the same universe as the middle frequencies that come out of the 1081

For the human voice though i think this is perhaps one of the most perfect eq's ever made, for me though it will most likely become my first choice for drums, but for piano, accoustic guitar NOTHING and i mean NOTHING even comes close to the 1081.

All in all i'm glad i got the chance to buy it at the price i did because otherwise i would never have bothered with it!

Well Done UAD on another great emulation.

Look forward to more! (perhaps tube-techs! :D)

If there is one EQ plug-in that can do it all, you are looking at it. The Neve 1073 is the ultimate EQ. DRUMs, AC OR EL GUITARS, VOCALS you name it, this EQ will do the job. OH and by the way, it can't be any easier to use. So simple yet so Amazing at the same time, I Couldn't believe it. I have a couple really good graphic EQ's, but no matter what you do: Shelving, Bell, hi-pass, lo-pass, Changing Q's, 5-band, 7-band, it didn't matter. A graphic EQ just doesn't capture the sound the way that the 1073 does.

Easily the best EQ in my whole collection. Less is definitely more in this case! I use it as my go to EQ for almost any track, and it's also the best, most transparent bass booster I've used, bar none. Whether it's low or high end you need, this plugin delivers the premium goods.

I worked on a Neve console for two years...you guys nailed it! I can finally afford that Neve console I've been wanting. I also have the Vintech 1073's now I can have Neve EQ on all of my drum tracks...and then some. Thanks!

I've just been using the 1073 on basses and guitars, during final mixing of a rock album.

This probably the BEST software EQ on the market! The UAD-1 was my single best purchase for my production setup. Every other plug is stellar as well. Can't go wrong..this card and ALL the plug-ins written for it are a MUST BUY.

This EQs are amazing! I use the 1073SE on many tracks.

This is such a sweet EQ. Easily the best channel EQ for vocals and very good on everything else as well. It has a distinct "open" sound which has been difficult to attain without using outboard gear, until now... 5 stars!

After having tryed this Neve 1073 EQ, I have pull out the window the orrible plastic and digital URS !!! Shure, two different but incomparable models. The UAD Neve IS the Neve EQ.
