Let's not pull any punches here. This is a little bad boy DSP processor. I replaced my 1E with it and it out pro-forms it. Sweet like candy. For the price it's the best way to get onto the platform. Expansion has been made so easy due to the fab drivers just keep adding cards. To keep it real, everyone who's anyone and no ones use these cards. It's a must.

In this age of powerful computers with Quad processors and a jillion cores in your CPU, why buy extra hardware cards to process audio?
That's the question I asked myself when I was considering buying UAD cards. But after researching all the possibilities, and going on the forums and seeing how good the support from the company was (very important to me!), I took the plunge.
I liked the results so much that I bought a second UAD-2 card. The sounds are just so darned good, and the processing cards lets my Mac use all its power for Logic and any native AU plugins I'm using.
The UAD plugins work as advertised, and any time I had questions the tech support was immediate. That's the second time I've mentioned support, because I feel it's SUPER important when dealing with high end cutting edge stuff like audio recording. And software updates are regular, free, and smush any bugs.
Basically, I feel very well taken care of and I feel like this company really understands musicians. Yeah, the stuff is a little pricey, but I'm happy to pay it since it works right the first time and every time. That alone is worth the price.
I'm so glad I spent the money on this instead of the Waves plugins -- so many problems with those and vastly overpriced. (I know some people run both, but I'm an a limited budget). On a limited budget, every dollar counts -- and my UAD dollars are very cost effective.
I don't mean to ignore the most important thing of all -- awesome sounds!
unfortunately nothing new as I have traded in from a uad 1 (an undesired purchase) and also waited more than one month after purchase with no communication from the retailer...
I'm really impressed regarding the straightforward process to install and integrate the UAD2 card on my workflow. I'm also really impressed of the quality level of analog classic bundle, I've expecting something less, but it's is really usable!
I've also kept up with UAD and used the plugins numerous times. Im a Waves user too, but I felt like I was missing the party.
I finally plunged and got the solo - to get my feet wet.
I love it!!! I'm not saving to ad a Duo to my machine. I can se ost if not all of the free plugins and the ones I've purchased being my go to plugins for many functions.
As always. I am a really big fan of the UAD plug-in products but I am surprised how short the life of the 50.00 coupon is. You need to extend.
goodbye uad1e hello uad2 solo ............ shoulda got the duo to run more !
All of the plugins are useful and musical. When used properly they make my recordings smooth, creamy, warm and professional. I've used native and I liked them until I purchased these. Now, I rarely use native because they generally sound too bombastic in comparison. These are subtle, even and elegant. They work fantastic with protools and cubase. My only regret is I didn't purchase this system before. I spent years making inferior recordings for this oversight. Now I'm able to do what the heavy hitters do and I'm very grateful.
please be advised that the uad 1176 plug in collection is the ultimate tone perfection for all musical genre when utilized as separate units or chain linked you make the impossible happen through unlimited sensitivity or aggressive tonality without sacrificing clarity or definition .
positively one of the uad finest offerings
thanks again uad and the remarkable support team

bought the solo card because I wanted the Pultec EQ - as native plugins are almost as much as this card and the EQ is included, it was a no-brainer, since the analog classics also include the 1176s, LA-2A and some other plugs... Great buy, a must for ITB-mixing!!
Now that I own these I can't imagine not owning these incredible compressors. In Particular the 1176AE which has an amazing smooth warm tone. Makes vocals, bass sink into the mix and just melt into silk. These compressors see more use than any of the others in my studio and now everything sounds so professional, so alive. It's a wonderful time to be an engineer/producer. We all have virtual gear at our disposal, without the expense or trouble and you're not getting this quality unless you shell out thousands of dollars.
UA's plug-ins are better others plug-ins.
May be I will buy UAD-2 Quad.
The UAD2 SOLO card is great but it's a HUGE teaser. As soon as I got it home and tried the stock plug-ins I immediately bought the Classic Compressors 1176 series from the UAD web-store and wouldn't you know it... I can barely run 6 of them without crashing the card.
Had I known this in the first place I may have bitten the bullet and bought the DUO or QUAD right off the bat. The plug-ins are spectacular and rest assured I'll be purchasing another much more powerful card asap.
We bought three of these units as a way to get around problems that we were having with our Pro tools plugins. The amount of memory that some of our plugins used rendered them nearly useless to us when mixing.
When we installed the UAD-2 DSP we were instantly surprised by how good the plugins sounded. The punch that the compressors afforded was far better than any of the Waves plugins that we had been using up to that time. We were ELATED!
But soon I noticed that we had another problem. The UAD system created timing errors.Because of this we sold 2 of the DSP units. We have kept one in hopes of finding a way around the timing problems but this hasn't happened yet.
If there were no or slight timing problems, this card would be excellent.
I like so muts fabfilter eq and dinamics.. They are very usefull and cheap. Give cambridge ep and more dinamics ( LA2A, and fairchild) please.. uad plugins have good sound and DSP( I use all my uad plugins are nice) , but are very expensive to be soft.
Thancks and sorry my english. Good worck
Hello,
I have just bought a SOLO UAD and I already think has to save up for an UAD duet.
The effects have nothing to do with the native, the installation is easy and at the moment no problem of compatibility with my PC (windows7 64bit and host is Ableton Live).
The processor of the card allows me to unload that of the computer (core duo 2.50 Ghz and 4G Ram), the precision and the clarity of the sound are all in succession audible. What leaves more freedom for the creativity (composition and mix).
I have a thing to do it is to choose well the effects which correspond has my music style (techno, tech-house) and to take advantage of the power UAD.
Thanks to the team UA.

My only complaint is that I bought a Solo card first. I intend on purchasing a duo very soon and save for an Octo. Sounds and performs better than my vast plugin collection, including the Waves package.
This is my new gears and its awesome...
Help me a lot to do my project and finished it well...
I like Pultec...
Work with production for 20 years. I used the best plugins on the market and are now bought a UAD 2. What I can say is that I do not know how I managed to go so long without UAD. (Sorry for my english: Google translator)
My first experience with the UAD-SOLO was great. The Classics Bundle are very usefull, especially the combination of the LA2A and 1176LN on vocals. And my computer thanks the relief that the DSP provides. Excited to try other plug-ins in a near future.
